1 E sucedeu que, no ano duodécimo, no duodécimo mês, no primeiro dia do mês, a palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:2 Filho do homem, levanta uma lamentação sobre Faraó, rei do Egito, e dize-lhe: Tu és semelhante a um leão jovem das nações, e tu és como uma baleia nos mares, e tu vens adiante com os teus rios, e atribulaste as águas com os teus pés, e sujastes os seus rios.3 Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Portanto, eu estenderei a minha rede sobre ti com a companhia de muitas pessoas, e elas te trarão em minha rede.4 Então, eu te deixarei sobre a terra; lançar-te-ei adiante sobre o campo aberto, e farei com que as aves do céu permaneçam sobre ti, e preencherei os animais de toda a terra contigo.5 E eu deitarei a tua carne sobre os montes, e encherei os vales com a tua altura.6 E eu também regarei com o teu sangue a terra onde tu nadas, até aos montes; e os rios se encherão de ti.7 E quando eu te extinguir, cobrirei o céu, e farei suas estrelas escuras; eu cobrirei o sol com a nuvem, e a lua não dará a sua luz.8 Todas as luzes brilhantes do céu tornarei escuras sobre ti, e estabelecerei trevas sobre a tua terra, diz o Senhor DEUS.9 E aborrecerei os corações de muitas pessoas, quando eu trouxer a tua destruição entre as nações, nos países que tu não conheceste.10 Sim, eu farei com que muitos povos fiquem espantados contigo, e seus reis ficarão horrivelmente temerosos por ti, quando eu brandir a minha espada diante deles; e eles tremerão a cada momento, cada homem por sua própria vida, no dia da tua queda.11 Porque assim diz o Senhor DEUS: A espada do rei de Babilônia virá sobre ti.12 Pelas espadas dos poderosos eu farei a tua multidão cair, os terríveis das nações, todos eles; e eles despojarão a pompa do Egito, e toda a sua multidão será destruída.13 Do lado das grandes águas eu destruirei também todos os seus animais; nem o pé do homem os atribulará mais, nem os cascos dos animais os atribularão.14 Então, eu farei suas águas profundas, e farei com que seus rios corram como o azeite, diz o Senhor DEUS.15 Quando eu tornar a terra do Egito assolada, e o país estiver destituído daquilo que estava cheio; quando eu ferir todos aqueles que habitam lá, então eles saberão que eu sou o SENHOR.16 Esta é a lamentação com a qual a lamentarão; as filhas das nações a lamentarão; elas lamentarão por ela, até mesmo pelo Egito, e por toda a sua multidão, diz o Senhor DEUS.17 E sucedeu também que, no ano duodécimo, no décimo quinto dia do mês, a palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:18 Filho do homem, lamenta para a multidão do Egito, e faze-a descer, a ela e as filhas das nações famosas até as partes baixas da terra, com aquelas que descem à cova.19 A quem passas tu em formosura? Desce, e deita-te com os incircuncisos.20 No meio daqueles que são mortos à espada elas cairão, à espada ela está entregue; arrastai-a e a toda a sua multidão.21 Os fortes entre os poderosos falarão desde o meio do inferno, com aqueles que o ajudam; eles já desceram, e jazem incircuncisos, mortos pela espada.22 Assur está lá e toda a sua companhia; seus túmulos estão ao redor dele; todos eles mortos, abatidos à espada.23 Cujos túmulos estão estabelecidos nos lados da cova, e sua companhia está ao redor de seu túmulo; todos eles mortos, abatidos à espada, o que causou terror na terra dos vivos.24 Ali está Elão e toda a sua multidão ao redor do seu sepulcro; todos eles mortos, abatidos à espada; que desceram incircuncisos às partes baixas da terra, o que causou terror na terra dos vivos, e carregaram a sua vergonha com aqueles que descem à cova.25 Então, puseram-lhe uma cama no meio dos mortos com toda a sua multidão; seus túmulos estão ao redor dele; todos os incircuncisos, mortos à espada, embora o seu terror fosse causado na terra dos vivos, ainda assim eles carregaram sua vergonha com aqueles que descem à cova; ele é colocado no meio daqueles que são mortos.26 Ali estão Meseque, Tubal e toda a sua multidão; seus túmulos estão ao redor dele; todos eles incircuncisos, mortos à espada, embora tenham causado o seu terror na terra dos vivos.27 E eles não jazerão com os poderosos que estão caídos por causa dos incircuncisos, que desceram ao inferno com as suas armas de guerra, e puseram as suas espadas debaixo das suas cabeças; mas suas iniquidades estarão sobre os seus ossos, embora eles fossem o terror dos poderosos na terra dos vivos.28 Sim, tu serás quebrado no meio dos incircuncisos, e jazerás com aqueles que são mortos pela espada.29 Ali está Edom, os seus reis e todos os seus príncipes, que com o seu poder são postos ao lado dos que foram mortos pela espada; estes jazerão com os incircuncisos e com os que descem à cova.30 Ali estão os príncipes do norte, todos eles, e todos os sidônios, que desceram com os mortos, com o seu terror eles são envergonhados pelo seu poder; e jazem incircuncisos com os que são mortos pela espada, e carregam a sua vergonha com os que descem à cova.31 Faraó os verá, e será consolado com toda a sua multidão; Faraó, e todo o seu exército, mortos pela espada, diz o Senhor DEUS.32 Porque eu causei meu terror na terra dos vivos; e ele jazerá no meio dos incircuncisos, com os que são mortos pela espada, Faraó e toda a sua multidão, diz o Senhor DEUS.

1 And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first day of the month, that the Word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,2 Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and say to him: You are like a young lion among the nations, and you are like a monster in the seas, bursting forth in your rivers, stirring up the waters with your feet, and fouling their rivers.3 Thus says the Lord Jehovah: I will therefore spread My net over you with a company of many people, and they will draw you up in My net.4 Then I will leave you on the land; I will cast you out upon the open fields, and cause all the birds of the heavens to settle on you. And I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with you.5 I will lay your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your corpses.6 I will also water the land with the flow of your blood, even to the mountains; and the ravines will be full of you.7 When I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light.8 All the bright lights of the heavens I will make dark over you, and bring darkness upon your land, declares the Lord Jehovah.9 I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring your ruin among the nations, into the lands which you have not known.10 Yes, I will make many peoples astonished at you, and their kings shall be horribly afraid at you when I brandish My sword before them; and they shall tremble every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of your fall.11 For thus says the Lord Jehovah: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you.12 By the swords of the mighty, all of them the most terrifying of the nations, I will cause your multitude to fall. They shall plunder the majesty of Egypt, and all its multitude shall be destroyed.13 I will also destroy all its animals from beside its great waters; the foot of man shall muddy them no more, nor shall the hooves of animals stir them up.14 Then I will make their waters settle, and make their rivers run like oil, says the Lord Jehovah.15 When I make the land of Egypt desolate, and the land is destitute of all that once filled it, when I strike all who dwell in it, then they shall know that I am Jehovah.16 This is the lamentation with which they shall lament her; the daughters of the nations shall lament her; they shall lament for her, for Egypt, and for all her multitude, says the Lord Jehovah.17 It came to pass also in the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the month, that the Word of Jehovah came unto me, saying:18 Son of man, wail over the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down to the lowest parts of the earth, her and the daughters of the majestic nations, with those who go down to the Pit:19 Whom do you surpass in beauty? Go down, be laid with the uncircumcised.20 They shall fall in the midst of those slain by the sword; she is delivered to the sword, drawing her and all her multitudes.21 The mighty among the strong shall speak to him out of the midst of Sheol with those who help him: they have gone down, they lie with the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.22 Assyria is there, and all her company, with their graves all around her, all of them slain, fallen by the sword.23 Her graves are set in the recesses of the Pit, and her company is all around her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who caused terror in the land of the living.24 There is Elam and all her multitude, all around her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who have gone down uncircumcised to the lower parts of the earth, who caused their terror in the land of the living. Now they bear their shame with those who go down to the Pit.25 They have set her bed in the midst of the slain, with all her multitude, with her graves all around it, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword; though their terror was caused in the land of the living, yet they bear their shame with those who go down to the Pit; it was put in the midst of the slain.26 There is Meshech, Tubal, and all their multitudes, with all their graves around it, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though they caused their terror in the land of the living.27 They do not lie with the mighty of the uncircumcised who are fallen, who have gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war; they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities will be on their bones, though the terror of the mighty was in the land of the living.28 Yes, you shall be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and lie with those slain by the sword.29 There is Edom, her kings and all her rulers, who with their might are laid beside those slain by the sword; they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with those who go down to the Pit.30 There are the rulers of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who have gone down with the slain, in shame at the terror which they caused by their might; they lie uncircumcised with those slain by the sword, and bear their shame with those who go down to the Pit.31 Pharaoh will see them and be comforted over all his multitude, Pharaoh and all his army, slain by the sword, declares the Lord Jehovah.32 For I have caused My terror in the land of the living; and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised with those slain by the sword, Pharaoh and all his multitude, declares the Lord Jehovah.
