1 E aconteceu que, quando os homens começaram a se multiplicar sobre a face da terra, e filhas lhes nasceram,2 os filhos de Deus viram que as filhas dos homens eram belas; e tomaram para si esposas de todas que escolheram.3 E o SENHOR disse: Meu Espírito não contenderá sempre com o homem, pois ele também é carne. Porém, seus dias serão cento e vinte anos.4 Havia gigantes na terra naqueles dias, e também depois disso, quando os filhos de Deus entraram às filhas dos homens, e elas lhes geraram filhos, estes se tornaram homens poderosos que eram na antiguidade, homens de renome.5 E Deus viu que a maldade do homem era grande na terra, e que toda a imaginação dos pensamentos do seu coração era apenas vil continuamente.6 E arrependeu-se o SENHOR de haver feito o homem na terra, e isso o afligia em seu coração.7 E o SENHOR disse: Eu destruirei o homem a quem criei da face da terra; tanto o homem quanto o animal, e a coisa rastejante, e as aves do céu; pois me arrependi de havê-los feito.8 Mas Noé encontrou graça aos olhos do SENHOR.9 Estas são as gerações de Noé: Noé foi um homem justo e perfeito nas suas gerações, e Noé andava com Deus.10 E Noé gerou três filhos: Sem, Cam e Jafé.11 A terra também estava corrompida diante de Deus, e a terra estava cheia de violência.12 E Deus olhou para a terra, e eis que ela estava corrompida, pois toda a carne havia corrompido seu caminho sobre a terra.13 E Deus disse a Noé: O fim de toda a carne chegou diante de mim; pois a terra está cheia de violência por meio deles; e eis que eu os destruirei com a terra.14 Faze para ti uma arca de madeira de gofer; farás compartimentos na arca e a betumarás por dentro e por fora com betume.15 E esta é a forma em que tu a farás: O comprimento da arca será trezentos côvados; a sua largura de cinquenta côvados; e a sua altura de trinta côvados.16 Uma janela farás para a arca, e em um côvado a acabarás em cima; e a porta da arca colocarás em sua lateral, lhe farás com andares, inferior, um segundo e um terceiro.17 E eis que eu mesmo trago um dilúvio de águas sobre a terra, para destruir toda a carne em que há sopro de vida de debaixo do céu. E toda coisa que está na terra morrerá.18 Mas contigo eu estabelecerei o meu pacto; e tu entrarás na arca, tu e teus filhos, e tua mulher, e as mulheres de teus filhos contigo.19 E de toda coisa vivente de toda a carne, dois de cada espécie, tu trarás para dentro da arca, para guardá-los vivos contigo; eles serão macho e fêmea.20 De aves segundo a sua espécie, e de gado segundo a sua espécie, de toda coisa rastejante da terra segundo a sua espécie, dois de cada espécie virão a ti, para guardá-los vivos.21 E tomarás para ti de todo alimento que se come, e o ajuntarás a ti, e será por alimento para ti, e para eles.22 Assim fez Noé; segundo tudo o que Deus lhe ordenou, assim ele fez.

1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were pleasing; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.3 And Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not continually strive with man, for indeed it is in flesh to sin; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.4 There were giants on the earth in those days. And also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them, these were the mighty men from antiquity, men of renown.5 And Jehovah saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all day long.6 And Jehovah regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved to His heart.7 And Jehovah said, I will obliterate man whom I have created from off the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and flying creatures of the heavens, for I regret having made them.8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of Jehovah.9 These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generation. Noah walked with God.10 And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.12 And God looked upon the earth, and behold it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.13 And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them along with the earth.14 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch.15 And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.16 You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third levels.17 And behold I, even I, am bringing a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy from under the heavens all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die.18 And I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark; you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.19 And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.20 Of flying creatures after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come in to you, to keep them alive.21 And take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them.22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.
