1 Canta, ó estéril, tu que não deste à luz. Irrompa em canto e clama em alta voz, tu que não entraste em trabalho de parto, porque mais são os filhos da desolada do que os filhos da mulher casada, diz o SENHOR.2 Amplia o lugar de tua tenda e permita-os estender as cortinas de tuas habitações. Não faça de forma restrita, alonga tuas cordas e fortalece tuas estacas.3 Porquanto, tu transbordarás para a direita e para a esquerda, e tua descendência herdará as nações e fará as cidades desoladas serem habitadas.4 Não temas, porque tu não serás envergonhada. Nem tu serás confundida, porque tu não serás envergonhada. Porquanto, tu esquecerás a vergonha de tua mocidade e não lembrarás nunca mais a desonra de tua viuvez.5 Porque teu Criador é teu marido. O SENHOR dos Exércitos é seu nome, e teu Redentor o Santo de Israel. O Deus de toda a terra será Ele denominado.6 Porque o SENHOR tem te chamado como uma mulher abandonada e aflita em Espírito, e uma esposa da mocidade, quando foi rejeitada, diz teu Deus.7 Durante um pequeno momento tenho eu te abandonado, porém, com grandes misericórdias eu te recolherei.8 Em um ímpeto de ira eu escondi minha face de ti, durante um momento, porém, com eterna bondade terei eu misericórdia de ti, diz o SENHOR, teu Redentor.9 Porque isto é como as águas de Noé para mim. Porque como eu tenho jurado que as águas de Noé nunca mais deveriam se estender por sobre a terra, então tenho eu jurado que eu não estaria furioso contigo, nem te repreenderia.10 Porque os montes desaparecerão e as colinas serão removidas, contudo, minha bondade não se afastará de ti, nem o pacto da minha paz será removida, diz o SENHOR, que tem misericórdia de ti.11 Ó tu, afligida, arrojada com tempestade e não consolada. Eis que tuas pedras com belas cores eu irei colocar, e porei teus alicerces com safiras.12 E farei tuas janelas de ágata, e teus portões de carbúnculos, e todos os teus limites de agradáveis pedras.13 E todos teus filhos serão discípulos do SENHOR, e grande será a paz de teus filhos.14 Em justiça tu serás estabelecida. Tu estarás longe da opressão, pois tu não temerás. E longe do terror, porquanto ele não se aproximará de ti.15 Eis que eles certamente conspirarão, porém, sem mim. Quem quer que se reunir contra ti cairá, por amor a ti.16 Eis que eu tenho criado o ferreiro, que aviva as brasas no fogo e que produz ferramenta para o trabalho dele, e eu tenho criado o devastador para destruir.17 Nenhuma arma que é forjada contra ti prosperará, e toda língua que vier a se levantar contra ti em juízo tu condenarás. Esta é a herança dos servos do SENHOR, e a justiça deles é proveniente de mim, diz o SENHOR.

1 Rejoice, O barren one, you who have not borne; break forth into screams of delight, you who have not writhed in pangs. For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the one who is married, says Jehovah.2 Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings. Do not spare, lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes;3 for you shall burst forth on the right hand and on the left. And your seed shall inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited.4 Do not fear, for you shall not be ashamed; nor be humiliated, for you shall not be put to shame. For you shall forget the shame of your youth, and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more.5 For your Maker is your husband; Jehovah of Hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. He shall be called, GOD OF THE WHOLE EARTH.6 For Jehovah has called you as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, like a wife of youth, when you were rejected, says your God.7 For a brief moment I have left you; but with great mercies I will gather you.8 In overflowing wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy upon you, says Jehovah your Redeemer.9 For this is like the waters of Noah to Me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should never again overflow the earth, so I have sworn to not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.10 For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says Jehovah, who has mercy on you.11 O you afflicted one, storm-tossed and not comforted, behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems, and lay your foundations with sapphires.12 And I will make your pinnacles of ruby, and your gates of sparkling stones, and all your borders of delightful stones.13 And all your children shall be taught of Jehovah, and great shall be the peace of your children.14 In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression; for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.15 Indeed, they shall surely gather together, but not by Me; whoever shall gather against you, by you he shall fall.16 Behold, I have created the smith who blows the coals in the fire, and who brings out a tool for his work; and I have created the one who ruins to destroy.17 No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of Jehovah, and their righteousness is from Me, says Jehovah.
