1 O Espírito do Senhor DEUS está sobre mim, porque o SENHOR tem me ungido para pregar boas novas ao pobre. Ele tem me enviado para atar as feridas do dilacerado, para proclamar liberdade aos cativos e a abertura da prisão para aqueles que estão encarcerados.2 Para proclamar o ano aceitável do SENHOR, e o dia da vingança do nosso Deus, para confortar todos que pranteiam.3 Para nomear aqueles que pranteiam em Sião, para dar-lhes beleza em lugar de cinzas, o óleo de alegria em lugar de pranto, a veste de louvor em lugar de espírito de opressão, para que eles possam ser chamados árvores de justiça, a plantação do SENHOR, para que ele possa ser glorificado.4 E eles edificarão as ruínas antigas. Eles irão levantar escombros do passado e repararão as cidades devastadas, os escombros de muitas gerações.5 E estrangeiros levantar-se-ão e alimentarão vossos rebanhos, e os filhos do estrangeiro serão os vossos fazendeiros e os vossos vinhateiros.6 Mas vós sereis denominados, os sacerdotes do SENHOR. Homens vos chamarão, os ministros de nosso Deus. Vós comereis as riquezas dos gentios e na glória deles vos vangloriareis.7 No lugar da vossa vergonha, vós tereis dupla honra, e no lugar de humilhação eles regozijarão na sua herança; portanto, na terra deles eles possuirão dupla honra. Alegria eterna estará sobre eles.8 Porque eu, o SENHOR, amo a justiça. Eu odeio o roubo, como oferta queimada. E eu dar-lhes-ei seu salário fielmente, e farei um pacto eterno com eles.9 E a posteridade deles será conhecida entre os gentios, e a descendência deles entre os povos. Todos que os veem irão admitir que eles são a semente que o SENHOR tem abençoado.10 Eu me regozijarei grandemente no SENHOR, minha alma estará exultante no meu Deus, porque ele me tem vestido com as vestes de salvação. Ele tem-me coberto com o manto de justiça, como um noivo no dia do casamento adorna a si mesmo com ornamentos e como uma noiva no dia do casamento adorna a si mesma com as suas joias.11 Porque, como a terra produz seu renovo, e como o jardim faz brotar suas sementes, assim, o Senhor DEUS fará surgir justiça e louvor perante todas as nações.

1 The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon Me; because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;2 to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;3 to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the mantle of praise for the spirit of heaviness; so that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that He might be glorified.4 And they shall rebuild the old wastes, they shall raise up what was formerly desolated. And they shall repair the waste cities, what lay desolate for many generations.5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.6 But you shall be named, The Priests of Jehovah; and they shall call you, Ministers of our God. You shall eat the riches of the nations, and you shall revel in their glory.7 Instead of your shame you shall have double; and instead of reproach they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their own land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs.8 For I, Jehovah, love justice; I hate stolen things for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.9 And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the people; all who see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed Jehovah has blessed.10 I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garment of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness like a bridegroom adorns himself with ornaments, and like a bride adorns herself with her jewels.11 For as the earth brings forth its bud, and as the garden causes that which is sown to grow; so the Lord Jehovah will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
