1 Judas, o servo de Jesus Cristo, e irmão de Tiago, àqueles que são santificados por Deus o Pai, aos chamados, e preservados em Jesus Cristo:2 Sejam-vos multiplicados a misericórdia, e a paz, e o amor.3 Amados, quando dediquei toda a diligência a escrever-vos acerca da salvação comum, tive a necessidade de escrever-vos, e ­exortar-vos, porquanto deveis seriamente batalhar pela fé que uma vez foi entregue aos santos.4 Porque certos homens se introduziram com dissimulação, os quais antes estavam ordenados para esta condenação, homens impiedosos, que convertem a graça do nosso Deus em lascívia, e negam o único Senhor Deus e nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.5 Mas quero, portanto, lembrar-vos, embora já sabeis disso, como o Senhor salvou o povo da terra do Egito, e destruiu depois os que não creram.6 E aos anjos que não guardaram o seu estado original, mas deixaram a sua própria habitação, ele reservou cadeias eternas sob trevas até ao julgamento do grande dia.7 Assim como Sodoma e Gomorra, e as cidades circunvizinhas, que, como eles, se entregaram à fornicação, e foram atrás de carne estranha, são postas como exemplo, sofrendo a vingança do fogo eterno.8 Também do mesmo modo, estes sonhadores imundos contaminam a carne, desprezam as autoridades e falam mal das potestades.9 No entanto, Miguel, o arcanjo, quando contendia com o diabo disputando pelo corpo de Moisés, não ousou trazer contra ele um juízo de acusação, mas disse: O Senhor te repreenda.10 Estes, porém, falam mal do que não sa­bem; mas aquilo que naturalmente conhecem, como animais irracionais, nestas coisas se corrompem.11 Ai deles! Porque entraram pelo caminho de Caim, e correram gananciosamente em direção ao erro de Balaão por recompensa, e pereceram na rebelião de Coré.12 Estes são manchas em vossas festas de caridade, quando festejam convosco, ­alimentando-se sem temor; eles são nuvens sem água, levadas pelos ventos; árvores cujos frutos secam, infrutíferas, duas vezes mortas, desarraigadas;13 ondas impetuosas do mar, que espumam a sua própria vergonha; estrelas errantes para as quais o negrume das trevas está reservado para sempre.14 E também Enoque, o sétimo depois de Adão, destes profetizou dizendo: Eis que é vindo o Senhor com dez mil de seus santos;15 para fazer juízo contra todos e convencer todos os ímpios entre eles, por todos os seus atos impiedosos, que impiamente cometeram, e por todas as duras palavras que ímpios pecadores disseram contra ele.16 Estes são os murmuradores, os queixo­sos, que andam segundo os seus desejos carnais, e cujas bocas proferem palavras muito arrogantes, admirando as pessoas por causa de alguma vantagem.17 Porém, amados, lembrai-vos das palavras que foram proferidas antes pelos apóstolos de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo;18 e, como vos diziam, haveria escarnecedores nos últimos tempos, que andariam segundo as suas ímpias concupiscências.19 Sendo estes os que se separam a si mesmos, os sensuais, que não têm o Espírito.20 Mas vós, amados, edificando-vos a vós mesmos sobre a vossa santíssima fé, orando no Espírito Santo,21 conservai-vos no amor de Deus, esperando a misericórdia de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo para a vida eterna.22 E de alguns, tende compaixão, com discernimento.23 E salvai alguns com temor, arrebatando-os do fogo, odiando até a vestimenta manchada pela carne.24 Ora, àquele que é poderoso para impedir-vos de cair, e para apresentar-vos sem defeito, diante da presença de sua glória, com abundante alegria,25 ao único Deus sábio, nosso Salvador, seja glória e majestade, domínio e poder, agora e sempre. 1 Judas, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of Jacob, to those who are called, set apart by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:2 Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning the common salvation, it was necessary for me to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were set forth to this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny the only Lord God, even our Lord Jesus Christ.5 But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgment of the Great Day;7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after other flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.8 Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, despise rulership, and speak evil of dignitaries.9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a blasphemous condemnation, but said, The Lord rebuke you.10 But these speak evil of things they do not know; and whatever they understand naturally, like animals without reason, in these things they corrupt themselves.11 Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have rushed out in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.12 These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you, serving themselves without fear. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;13 raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these men also, saying, Behold, the Lord comes with innumerable hosts of His saints,15 to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and their mouths speak great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts.19 These are they who set themselves apart, sensual persons, not having the Spirit.20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.22 And on some have compassion, making a distinction;23 but others rescue with fear, snatching them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.24 Now to Him who has the power to keep you from stumbling, and to present you without blemish before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,25 to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever.
