1 O vinho é um zombador, a bebida forte é colérica, e quem quer que seja enganado desse modo não é sábio.2 O temor do rei é como o rugido de um leão, quem quer que o provoque à raiva peca contra a sua própria alma.3 É uma honra para um homem cessar os conflitos, mas todo tolo é intrometido.4 O preguiçoso não lavrará por causa do frio; portanto, ele mendigará na colheita e nada terá.5 Como as águas profundas é o conselho no coração do homem, mas um homem de entendimento a trará para fora.6 A maioria dos homens proclamará a todos sua própria bondade, mas um homem fiel, quem pode encontrar?7 O homem justo anda na sua integridade; seus filhos são abençoados após ele.8 Um rei que se assenta no trono do juízo dissipa todo mal com os seus olhos.9 Quem poderá dizer: Purifiquei o meu coração, eu sou puro de meu pecado?10 Pesos diferentes e medidas diferentes; ambos são igualmente abominação ao SENHOR.11 Até uma criança é conhecida pelos seus feitos, se a sua obra for pura e se está certa.12 O ouvido que ouve, e o olho que vê, o SENHOR os fez a ambos.13 Não ames o sono, para que não venhas à pobreza; abre os teus olhos, e te satisfarás com o pão.14 Nada vale, nada vale, diz o comprador, mas quando ele vai pelo seu caminho, então ele se gaba.15 Há ouro e abundância de rubis, mas os lábios do conhecimento são joia preciosa.16 Toma a sua vestimenta, que é garantia para um estranho, e toma o penhor dele por uma mulher estranha.17 O pão do engano é doce para o homem, mas depois a sua boca se encherá de cascalho.18 Todo propósito é estabelecido pelo conselho, e com bons conselhos se faz a guerra.19 Aquele que vai por aí como um mexeriqueiro revela segredos; portanto, não te intrometas com o que lisonjeia com os seus lábios.20 O que amaldiçoa seu pai ou sua mãe, apagar-se-á a sua lâmpada em trevas obscuras.21 A herança que no princípio é adquirida às pressas, no fim não será abençoada.22 Não digas tu: Eu retribuirei o mal, mas espera no SENHOR e ele te salvará.23 Pesos diferentes são uma abominação ao SENHOR, e a balança falsa não é boa.24 Os passos do homem são do SENHOR; como poderá então um homem entender o seu próprio caminho?25 Laço é para o homem devorar aquilo que é santo, e só refletir depois de feitos os votos.26 Um rei sábio espalha os perversos e traz sobre eles a roda.27 O espírito do homem é a luz do SENHOR, que esquadrinha todo o interior até o mais íntimo do ventre.28 Misericórdia e verdade preservam o rei, e seu trono é sustentado pela misericórdia.29 A glória dos homens jovens é a sua força, e a beleza dos homens velhos é a cabeça grisalha.30 O azulado de uma ferida purifica do mal, como também as pancadas que penetram até o mais íntimo do ventre.
1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging, and whoever goes astray by it is not wise.2 The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion; whoever stirs him up to anger sins against his own soul.3 It is an honor for a man to cease from strife, but every fool exposes himself.4 The sluggard will not plow; after the autumn he shall beg during harvest and have nothing.5 Advice in the heart of man is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.6 Most men will proclaim each one his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man?7 The just walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.8 A king who sits on the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes.9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean; I am pure from my sin?10 Different sets of weight stones, different sets of measures, both are an abomination to Jehovah.11 Even a child is known by his deeds, whether his work is pure and right.12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye, Jehovah has made them both.13 Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes and you shall be satisfied with bread.14 No good! It is no good! says the buyer; but when he has gone his way, then he boasts.15 There is gold and a multitude of rubies; but the lips of knowledge are a prized vessel.16 Take the garment of him who is surety for a stranger; and take a pledge from him for foreigners.17 Bread of deceit is sweet to a man, but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.18 Plans are established by counsel; and wage war with good advice.19 A gossip is a revealer of secrets; therefore do not fellowship with him who flatters with his lips.20 Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in deep darkness.21 An inheritance obtained by greed in the beginning will not be blessed in the end.22 Do not say, I will recompense evil; wait on Jehovah, and He will save you.23 Different sets of weight stones are an abomination to Jehovah, and dishonest scales are not good.24 Mans steps are of Jehovah; how then can a man understand his own way?25 It is a snare for a man to rashly devote something as holy, and afterward to reconsider his vows.26 A wise king winnows the wicked and brings the threshing wheel over them.27 The spirit of man is the lamp of Jehovah, searching all the inward parts of the belly.28 Mercy and truth preserve the king; and his throne is upheld by goodness.29 The glory of young men is their strength; and the honor of old men is the gray head.30 The bruises of a wound cleanse away evil, and stripes the inward parts of the belly.
