1 Aquele que sendo frequentemente reprovado endurece o seu pescoço, será repentinamente destruído, sem que haja remédio.2 Quando os justos têm autoridade, o povo se regozija, mas quando o perverso domina, o povo pranteia.3 Quem quer que ame a sabedoria regozija o seu pai, mas aquele que guarda a companhia de prostitutas gasta os seus bens.4 O rei pelo juízo estabelece a terra, mas aquele que recebe presentes a transtorna.5 Um homem que lisonjeia seu vizinho estende uma rede para seus pés.6 Na transgressão de um homem mau há um laço, mas o justo canta e se regozija.7 O justo considera a causa dos pobres, mas o perverso não se importa de saber dela.8 Os homens escarnecedores trazem uma cidade para dentro de um laço, mas os homens sábios desviam a ira.9 Se um homem sábio contender com um homem tolo, se ele se irritar ou rir, não há descanso.10 O sanguinário odeia o reto, mas o justo busca a sua alma.11 Um tolo profere toda a sua mente, mas um homem sábio a guarda para depois.12 Se um governante ouvir mentiras, todos os seus servos serão perversos.13 O pobre e o homem enganador se encontram; o ­SENHOR ilumina os olhos de ambos.14 O rei que fielmente julga os pobres, seu trono se estabelecerá para sempre.15 A vara e a repreensão dão sabedoria, mas o filho entregue a si, traz vergonha para a sua mãe.16 Quando os perversos são multiplicados, as transgressões aumentam, mas os justos verão a sua queda.17 Corrige o teu filho, e ele te dará descanso; sim, ele dará deleites à tua alma.18 Onde não há visão profética, o povo perece; mas aquele que guarda a lei; esse é feliz.19 Um servo não se corrigirá por palavras, porque embora ele entenda, não responderá.20 Vês tu um homem que é precipitado em suas palavras? Há mais esperança para um tolo do que para ele.21 Aquele que delicadamente cria seu servo desde criança o terá tornado seu filho.22 Um homem com ira acirra contendas; e um homem furioso transborda em transgressão.23 O orgulho de um homem o abaterá, mas a honra sustentará o humilde de espírito.24 Aquele que é parceiro de um ladrão odeia a sua própria alma; ele ouve maldições, e não o denuncia.25 O temor do homem traz um laço, mas o que puser sua confiança no ­SENHOR estará a salvo.26 Muitos buscam o favor do governante, mas o juízo de cada homem vem do ­SENHOR.27 Um homem injusto é uma abominação para os justos, e aquele que é reto no seu caminho é abominação para os perversos.

1 A man who hardens his neck when reproved shall be suddenly broken, and there will be no healing.2 When the righteous multiply, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.3 Whoever loves wisdom causes his father to rejoice; but a companion of harlots wastes wealth.4 The king establishes the land by justice; but he who receives bribes tears it down.5 A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare; but the righteous shouts and rejoices.7 The righteous considers the plea of the poor, but the wicked has no discernment to know it.8 Scornful men blast and inflame a city, but the wise turn away anger.9 If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rages or laughs, there is no rest.10 Men of blood hate the perfect; but the upright seek the security of his soul.11 A fool vents all his emotions; but a wise one keeps still until afterwards.12 If a ruler pays attention to lies, all his servants are wicked.13 The poor and the oppressor have this in common; Jehovah gives light to the eyes of both.14 A king who judges the lowly in truth, his throne shall be established continually.15 The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a lad set loose brings shame to his mother.16 When the wicked become numerous, transgression increases; but the righteous shall see their fall.17 Correct your son, and he will give you rest; yea, he shall give delight to your soul.18 Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained; but he who keeps the Law is blessed.19 A servant will not be corrected by words, for though he understands, he will not respond.20 Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.21 He who pampers his servant from youth, that one in the end shall be as his progeny.22 An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.23 A man’s pride shall bring him low; but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.24 He who shares with a thief hates his own soul; he hears the oath, but does not confess.25 The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Jehovah shall be exalted.26 Many seek the ruler’s favor, but man’s justice comes from Jehovah.27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just; and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.
