1 Louvai ao SENHOR. Louva ao SENHOR, ó minha alma.2 Enquanto eu viver louvarei ao SENHOR; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto eu existir.3 Não ponhais vossa confiança em príncipes, nem no filho do homem, em quem não há socorro.4 Seu fôlego vai embora, ele retorna para a sua terra; naquele mesmo dia seus pensamentos perecem.5 Feliz é aquele que tem o Deus de Jacó por seu socorro, cuja esperança está no SENHOR seu Deus.6 Que fez o céu e a terra, o mar e tudo quanto neles há; que guarda a verdade para sempre;7 que executa juízo aos oprimidos; que dá alimento aos famintos. O SENHOR solta os prisioneiros.8 O SENHOR abre os olhos dos cegos; o SENHOR levanta aqueles que estão curvados; o SENHOR ama os justos;9 O SENHOR preserva os estrangeiros; ele alivia o órfão e a viúva; mas o caminho do perverso ele vira de cabeça para baixo.10 O SENHOR reinará para sempre; o teu Deus, ó Sião, todas as gerações. 1 Praise YAH! Praise Jehovah, O my soul!2 While I live I will praise Jehovah; I will make music unto my God while I have my being.3 Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.4 His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.5 Blessed is he who has the Mighty God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God,6 who made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever,7 who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. Jehovah lets loose the prisoners.8 Jehovah opens the eyes of the blind; Jehovah raises those who are bowed down; Jehovah loves the righteous.9 Jehovah watches over the sojourners; He relieves the fatherless and widow; but the way of the wicked He turns upside down.10 Jehovah shall reign forever; Your God, O Zion, from generation to generation.
