1 Ao Músico-chefe sobre Gitite, Salmo de Davi. Ó SENHOR, nosso Senhor, quão excelente é teu nome em toda a terra! Que estabeleceste a tua glória sobre os céus.2 Da boca dos bebês e das crianças de peito, tu ordenaste a força por causa dos teus inimigos, para que pudesses parar o inimigo e o vingador.3 Quando considero os teus céus, o trabalho dos teus dedos, a lua e as estrelas que tu ordenaste;4 o que é o homem, para que sejas cuidadoso com ele? E o filho do homem, para que o visites?5 Porque o fizeste por um pouco, menor do que os anjos, e o coroaste com glória e honra.6 Tu fizeste com que ele tivesse domínio sobre as obras de tuas mãos; tu puseste todas as coisas debaixo de seus pés:7 Todas as ovelhas e bois, sim, e os animais do campo;8 As aves do ar, e os peixes do mar, e tudo o que passa pelas veredas dos mares.9 Ó SENHOR, nosso Senhor, quão excelente é o teu nome em toda a terra!

1 O Jehovah our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens!2 Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings You have ordained strength, because of Your enemies, that You might remove the enemy and the avenger.3 When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars which You have established;4 what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?5 For You have made him lacking a little from God, and have crowned him with glory and honor.6 You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet:7 all sheep and oxen, even the beasts of the field;8 the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea passing through the paths of the seas.9 O Jehovah, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!
