9Though we are slaves,  9:9 Neh 9:36 our God has not abandoned us in our slavery. He has extended grace to us in the presence of the Persian kings,  9:9 2Kg 25:28; Ezr 6:22 giving us relief, so that we can rebuild the house of our God and repair its ruins,  9:9 Ezr 1:4; 7:12–20 to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem.
