23but the Lord was gracious to them, had compassion on them,  13:23 1Kg 8:28 and turned toward them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  13:23 Ex 2:24 He was not willing to destroy them. Even now he has not banished them from his presence.  13:23 2Kg 14:27

14We will certainly die  14:14 Jn 8:51 and be like water poured out on the ground, which can’t be recovered. But God would not take away a life; he would devise plans so that the one banished from him does not remain banished.

16The king will surely listen in order to keep his servant from the grasp of this man who would eliminate both me and my son from God’s inheritance.
