A Christian’s Duties to the State

1 Let everyone submit to the governing authorities,  * 13:1 Ti 3:1; 1Pt 2:13 since there is no authority except from God,  * 13:1 Dn 2:21; 4:17; Jn 19:1 and the authorities that exist are instituted by God. 2 So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves.
