1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Jehovah of hosts! 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of Jehovah; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living ·God*GodHebrew: El3 Yea, the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she layeth her young, thine altars, O Jehovah of hosts, my King and my God*GodHebrew: Elohim4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be constantly praising thee. Selah. 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee, — they, in whose heart are the highways. 6 Passing through the valley of Baca, they make it a well-spring; yea, the early rain covereth it with blessings. 7 They go from strength to strength: each one will appear before God*GodHebrew: Elohim in Zion.

8 Jehovah, God*GodHebrew: Elohim of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Jacob. Selah. 9 Behold, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God*GodHebrew: Elohim than dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For Jehovah Elohim is a sun and shield: Jehovah will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. 12 Jehovah of hosts, blessed is the man that confideth in thee!

Von den Söhnen Korahs, ein Psalm.Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen, Jehova der Heerscharen! 2 Es sehnt sich, ja, es schmachtet meine Seele nach den Vorhöfen Jehovas; mein Herz und mein Fleisch rufen laut nach dem lebendigen Gott. *El3 Selbst der Sperling hat ein Haus gefunden, und die Schwalbe ein Nest für sich, wo sie ihre Jungen hingelegt… deine Altäre, Jehova der Heerscharen, mein König und mein Gott! 4 Glückselig, die da wohnen in deinem Hause! stets werden sie dich loben. (Sela.) 5 Glückselig der Mensch, dessen Stärke in dir ist, in deren Herzen gebahnte Wege sind! 6 Durch das Tränental *Hebr. Bakatal gehend, machen sie es zu einem Quellenort; ja, mit Segnungen bedeckt es der Frühregen. 7 Sie gehen von Kraft zu Kraft; sie erscheinen vor Gott in Zion.

8 Jehova, Gott der Heerscharen, höre mein Gebet; nimm zu Ohren, du Gott Jakobs! (Sela.) 9 Du, unser Schild, sieh, o Gott; und schaue an das Antlitz deines Gesalbten! 10 Denn ein Tag in deinen Vorhöfen ist besser als sonst tausend; ich will lieber an der Schwelle stehen im Hause meines Gottes, als wohnen in den Zelten der Gesetzlosen. *Eig. der Gesetzlosigkeit11 Denn Jehova, Gott, ist Sonne und Schild; Gnade und Herrlichkeit wird Jehova geben, kein Gutes vorenthalten denen, die in Lauterkeit *O. Vollkommenheit, Tadellosigkeit wandeln. 12 Jehova der Heerscharen! glückselig der Mensch, der auf dich vertraut!
