12 And all Judah brought the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil into the storehouses.

13 And I made storekeepers over the storehouses: Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah; and subordinate to them, Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah; for they were esteemed faithful, and their office was to distribute to their brethren.

14 Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds which I have done for the house of my God, and for the charges thereof!

12 Als dann das ganze Volk wieder den Zehnten von ihrem Getreide, dem Wein und dem Olivenöl in die Vorratsräume brachte,

13 übertrug ich die Aufsicht darüber dem Priester Schelemja, dem Schreiber Zadok und dem Leviten Pedaja. Als Helfer stellte ich ihnen noch Hanan Ben-Sakkur, den Enkel Mattanjas, zur Seite. Sie alle galten als zuverlässige Männer und sollten für die Verteilung des Zehnten an ihre Brüder verantwortlich sein.

14 "Denk an mich, mein Gott, und lösch die guten Taten, die ich für dein Haus und den Tempeldienst vollbracht habe, nicht aus deinem Buch aus!"
