1 Ich ermahne nun vor allen Dingen, daß Flehen, Gebete, Fürbitten, Danksagungen getan werden für alle Menschen,

2 für Könige und alle, die in Hoheit sind, auf daß wir ein ruhiges und stilles Leben führen mögen in aller Gottseligkeit und würdigem Ernst.

1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
