46 Und Maria sprach: Meine Seele erhebet den Herrn,

47 und mein Geist hat frohlockt in Gott, meinem Heilande;

48 denn er hat hingeblickt auf die Niedrigkeit seiner Magd; denn siehe, von nun an preisen mich glückselig alle Geschlechter.

49 Denn große Dinge hat der Mächtige an mir gethan, und heilig ist sein Name;

50 und seine Barmherzigkeit ist von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht über die, so ihn fürchten.

51 Er hat Gewalt gethan mit seinem Arm: er hat die Hochmüthigen zerstreuet in der Gesinnung ihres Herzens.

52 Mächtige hat er von Thronen hinabgestoßen, und Niedrige erhöhet.

53 Er hat Hungrige mit Gütern erfüllt und Reiche leer fortgeschickt.

54 Er hat sich Israels angenommen als seines Knechtes, damit er eingedenk sei der Barmherzigkeit

55 (wie er geredet hat zu unsern Vätern) gegen Abraham und seinen Samen in Ewigkeit.

46 And said Mary: Magnifies the soul of me the Lord,

47 and has exulted the spirit of me in the God the savior of me;

48 for he looked upon the low state of the handmaid of himself. Lo for, from the now will call happy me all the generations;

49 for has done to me great things the mighty one; and holy the name of him,

50 and the mercy of him to generations of generations to those fearing him.

51 He has showed strength with arm of himself; he has dispersed arrogant ones in thought of hearts of them.

52 He has cast down mighty ones from thrones, and lifted up humble ones.

53 Hungering one he filled of good things, and being rich be sent away empty.

54 He aided Israel a child of himself, to remember mercy.

55 (as he spoke to the fathers of us), to the Abraham and to the seed of him even to an age.
