25 Und siehe, es war ein Mensch in Jerusalem mit Namen Simeon; und dieser Mensch war gerecht und gottesfürchtig und wartete auf den Trost Israels; und der Heilige Geist war auf ihm.

26 Und es war ihm ein göttlicher Ausspruch geworden von dem Heiligen Geiste: er solle den Tod nicht sehen, ehe er den Christ des Herrn gesehen habe.

27 Und er kam durch den Geist in den Tempel. Und als die Eltern das Kindlein Jesus hineinbrachten, um für ihn zu thun nach der Gewohnheit des Gesetzes,

28 nahm auch er ihn auf seine Arme und lobte Gott und sprach:

29 Nun, Herr, lässest du deinen Diener in Frieden gehen, nach deinem Worte;

30 denn meine Augen haben dein Heil gesehen,

31 das du bereitet vor dem Angesicht aller Völker:

32 ein Licht zur Offenbarung der Nationen und zur Herrlichkeit deines Volkes Israel.

25 And lo, was a man in Jerusalem, to whom a name of Simeon; and the man this just and pious, waiting for consolation of the Israel. And a spirit was holy upon him,

26 and it was to him having been informed by the spirit of the holy, not to see death, before he should see the Anointed of Lord.

27 And he came by the spirit into the temple; and in the to bring the parents the little child Jesus, of the to do them according to that having been instituted of the law concerning him;

28 also he took it into the arms of himself, and blessed the God, and said:

29 Now dost thou dismiss the servant of thee, O Sovereign, according to the word of thee, in peace;

30 for have seen the eyes of me the salvation of thee,

31 which thou hast prepared before face of all the people;

32 a light for a revelation of nations, and a glory of people of thee Israel.
