6 So then *[Mark 13:36]; See Rom. 13:11-13let us not sleep, as others do, but let us *See Matt. 24:42keep awake and *See 1 Pet. 1:13be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, *[Acts 2:15;2 Pet. 2:13]are drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, *Isa. 59:17;Eph. 6:14,17having put on the breastplate of *[Eph. 6:23]faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for *See ch. 1:10wrath, but *2 Thess. 2:13,14;[Heb. 10:39]to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
