Apocalipse 22

The River of Life

1 Then the angel*22:1 Greek he showed me *Ezek. 47:1;Zech. 14:8;[Ps. 46:4] the river of *See ch. 21:6the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 through the middle of *ch. 21:21the street of the city; *Ezek. 47:12also, on either side of the river, *ver. 14, 19;ch. 2:7;Gen. 2:9the tree of life*22:2 Or the Lamb. In the midst of the street of the city, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were *[ch. 21:24]for the healing of the nations. 3 *Zech. 14:11;[Gen. 3:17] No longer will there be anything accursed, but *ch. 21:3,23;Ezek. 48:35the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and *ch. 7:15his servants will worship him. 4 *Matt. 5:8;1 Cor. 13:12;1 John 3:2They will see his face, and *ch. 3:12;7:3;14:1his name will be on their foreheads. 5 And *ch. 21:25night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp *See ch. 21:23or sun, for *Ps. 36:9;See ch. 21:11the Lord God will be their light, and *Dan. 7:18,27;Rom. 5:17;2 Tim. 2:12;See ch. 20:4they will reign forever and ever.

Jesus Is Coming

6 And he said to me, *See ch. 21:5"These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of *1 Cor. 14:32the spirits of the prophets, *ch. 1:1has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place."

7 "And behold, *ver. 12, 20;ch. 3:11I am coming soon. *ch. 1:3Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."

8 I, *ch. 1:1,4,9John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, *ch. 19:10I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 9 *[See ver. 8above] but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those *[See ver. 6above]who keep the words of this book. Worship God."

10 And he said to me, *[ch. 10:4]"Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 *Ezek. 3:27;[Dan. 12:10;2 Tim. 3:13]Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy."

12 "Behold, *ver. 7, 20I am coming soon, *Isa. 40:10;62:11bringing my recompense with me, *See Matt. 16:27to repay each one for what he has done.13 *See ch. 1:8I am the Alpha and the Omega, *See ch. 1:17the first and the last, *ch. 21:6the beginning and the end."

14 Blessed are those who *See ch. 7:14wash their robes,*22:14 Some manuscripts do his commandments so that they may have the right to *ver. 2, 19the tree of life and that *Ps. 118:20;See ch. 21:27they may enter the city by the gates. 15 *[Gal. 5:19-21]; See Matt. 8:12Outside are *See Phil. 3:2the dogs *See ch. 21:8and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

16 *ch. 1:1"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things *ch. 1:4for the churches. I am *See ch. 5:5the root and *See Matt. 1:1the descendant of David, *[ch. 2:28;Num. 24:17;Isa. 60:3;Matt. 2:2]the bright morning star."

17 The Spirit and *ch. 21:2,9the Bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And *ch. 21:6;Isa. 55:1;John 7:37let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the *See ch. 21:6water of life without price.

18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: *Deut. 4:2;12:32;[Prov. 30:6]if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in *ver. 2, 14the tree of life and in *See ch. 21:2the holy city, which are described in this book.

20 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely *ver. 7, 12I am coming soon." Amen. *[2 Tim. 4:8]Come, Lord Jesus!
