The Coming of the Holy Spirit

1 When *ch. 20:16;1 Cor. 16:8;[Lev. 23:15]the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like *[1 Kgs. 19:11;Job 38:1;Ezek. 1:4] a mighty rushing wind, and *[ch. 4:31;16:26]it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues *Matt. 3:11as of fire appeared to them and rested*2:3 Or And tongues as of fire appeared to them, distributed among them, and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all *ch. 4:31;13:52filled with the Holy Spirit and began *See Mark 16:17to speak in other tongues *[1 Cor. 12:10,11]as the Spirit gave them utterance.
