The Temptation of Jesus

1 For ver. 1-11, see Mark 1:12,13;Luke 4:1-13Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness [Heb. 2:18;4:15]to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting [Deut. 9:9,18;1 Kgs. 19:8] forty days and forty nights, he [John 4:6,7]was hungry. 3 And 1 Thess. 3:5the tempter came and said to him, "If you are See ch. 14:33the Son of God, command [ch. 3:9]these stones to become loaves of bread." 4 But he answered, ver. 7, 10;Eph. 6:17"It is written,
