About marriage

1 Now concerning the things about which you wrote to me: it is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2 But because of the fornications, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.*Observe that it is just one wife, and just one husband. 3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; similarly also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5 Do not deprive one another except by mutual consent for a season, so that you may devote yourselves to fasting*Less than 7% of the Greek manuscripts omit "to fasting and", to be followed by NIV, NASB, LB, TEV, etc. (It is a simple case of ‘like ending’.) and to prayer, and come together again so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.*The whole paragraph is talking about sexual intercourse.
