27 Then He says to the disciple, "There is your mother!" And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.*Notice that Jesus is still perfectly lucid. As Mary’s oldest son, He was responsible for her well-being (we understand that Joseph was gone by now), so He passes that responsibility over to the Apostle John (the author of this Gospel); and John accepts it.
