Inconsistency of the Pharisees
31 "To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and to what are they similar? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, saying,
‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance;
we mourned to you, and you did not cry.’
33 Because John the Baptizer came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon!’ 34 The Son of the Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Just look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ 35 Still, by all her children wisdom is justified."In other words, the Pharisees were not children of ‘wisdom’.
