9 How was God’s love shown to us? God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we could live through him. 10 This is love! It’s not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and he sent his Son to be the means by which our sins are forgiven.

11 Friends, if this is the way God loves us, we ought to love one another like this too.
