1To sum up: my dear friends, delight in the Lord! It’s not a burden for me to repeat these things to you—it’s to keep you safe!

20But our homeland is heaven, and we’re waiting for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come from there too.

21This water symbolizes baptism that now saves you, not by washing off dirt from your body, but as a positive response to God that comes from a clear conscience. It is the resurrection of Jesus Christ that makes your salvation possible.
