9 "I know what these people are like," the Lord continued saying to Moses. "They are so rebellious!32:9. "Rebellious" or "perverse": the image is of a horse being tugged by the reins in one direction but deliberately going in the opposite direction. This means more than simply being obstinate, but actually trying to do the opposite.
