16 I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter,*14:16. Comforter. The word in the original (transliterated into English as "Paraclete") refers to one who is called to "come alongside" and help. See also 14:26, 15:26, 16:7, and 1 John 2:1. 17 the Spirit of truth, who will always be with you. The world cannot accept him because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t know him. But you know him because he lives with you and will be in you.
