32 Or il passo della Scrittura chegli leggeva era questo: Egli è stato menato alluccisione come una pecora; e come un agnello che è muto dinanzi a colui che lo tosa, così egli non ha aperta la bocca.

33 Nel suo abbassamento fu tolta via la sua condanna; chi descriverà la sua generazione? Poiché la sua vita e stata tolta dalla terra.

34 E leunuco, rivolto a Filippo, gli disse: Di chi, ti prego, dice questo il profeta? Di sé stesso, oppure dun altro?

35 E Filippo prese a parlare, e cominciando da questo passo della Scrittura gli annunziò Gesù.

32 Now the passage of the scripture which he was reading was this,

He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;

And as a lamb before his shearer is dumb,

So he openeth not his mouth:

33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away:

His generation who shall declare?

For his life is taken from the earth.

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other? 35 And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this scripture, preached unto him Jesus.
