16 "Va, raduna tutti i Giudei che si trovano a Susa, e digiunate per me; state senza mangiare e senza bere per tre giorni, notte e giorno. Anchio con le mie donzelle digiunerò nello stesso modo; e dopo entrerò dal re, quantunque ciò sia contro la legge; e, sio debbo perire, chio perisca!"

16 "Go, gather together all the Jews who are present in Susa, and fast for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day. I and my maidens will also fast the same way. Then I will go in to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish."
