1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, [and] not the very image of the things, can never make perfect those who come by the same sacrifices which they offer year by year continually.2 Otherwise, they would cease to offer them, because those that sacrifice, once purged, would have no more conscience of sin.3 But in these [sacrifices] each year [the same] remembrance of sins is made.4 For the blood of bulls and of goats cannot take away sins.
