41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. 42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, 43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. 44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. 45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

41 以利亚对亚哈说： "你上去吃喝吧！ 因为已经有下大雨的响声了。"

42 亚哈就上去吃喝。以利亚上了迦密山顶， 屈身在地， 把脸放在两膝之间。

43 以利亚对自己的仆人说： "你上去向海那边观看。"他就上去观看， 说： "什么也没有。"以利亚说： "你再回去观看。"这样说了七次。

44 到第七次， 仆人说： "我看到一小片乌云， 好像人的手掌那么大， 正在从海里升上来。"以利亚说： "你上去告诉亚哈： ‘赶快套车下山， 免得被大雨所阻。’"

45 霎时之间， 天空因风云而变为黑暗， 随着降下大雨来。于是亚哈坐上了车， 往耶斯列去了。
