45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47 And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give you into our hands.

45 David dit au Philistin: Tu marches contre moi avec l'épée, la lance et le javelot; et moi, je marche contre toi au nom de l'Eternel des armées, du Dieu de l'armée d'Israël, que tu as insultée.

46 Aujourd'hui l'Eternel te livrera entre mes mains, je t'abattrai et je te couperai la tête; aujourd'hui je donnerai les cadavres du camp des Philistins aux oiseaux du ciel et aux animaux de la terre. Et toute la terre saura qu'Israël a un Dieu.

47 Et toute cette multitude saura que ce n'est ni par l'épée ni par la lance que l'Eternel sauve. Car la victoire appartient à l'Eternel. Et il vous livre entre nos mains.

45 Allora Davide rispose al Filisteo: "Tu vieni a me con la spada, con la lancia e col giavellotto; ma io vengo a te nel nome dellEterno degli eserciti, dellIddio delle schiere dIsraele che tu hai insultato.

46 Oggi lEterno ti darà nelle mie mani, e io ti abbatterò, ti taglierò la testa, e darò oggi stesso i cadaveri dellesercito de Filistei agli uccelli del cielo e alle fiere della terra; e tutta la terra riconoscerà che vè un Dio in Israele;

47 e tutta questa moltitudine riconoscerà che lEterno non salva per mezzo di spada né per mezzo di lancia; poiché lesito della battaglia dipende dallEterno, ed egli vi darà nelle nostre mani".
