15For the Lord Yahweh, the holy one of Israel, said this:"In returning and rest you shall be saved;your strength shall be in quietness and in trust."ButOr "And" you were not willing,

19For people will live in Zion;in Jerusalem, you will surely not weep.Surely he will be gracious to you;when he hears the sound of your cry, he will answer you.

1O God, make haste to deliver me.O Yahweh, make haste to help me.

4Let them rejoice and be glad in you,all those who seek you.Let them say continually, "God is great!"those who love your salvation.

5But I am poor and needy;O God hasten to me.You are my help and my deliverer.O Yahweh, do not delay.

2Who has roused salvation from the east,summonedOr "called" him to his foot,gives nations in his presence,Literally "before his face"and subjugates kings?He makesOr "gives" them like the dust with his sword,like scattered stubble with his bow.

10You must not fear, for I am with you;you must not be afraid, for I am your God.I will strengthen you, indeed I will help you,indeed I will take hold of you with the right hand of my salvation.

16You shall winnow them and the wind shall carry them,and the tempest shall scatter them.And you yourself shall rejoice in Yahweh;you shall boast in the holy one of Israel.

1In you, O Yahweh, I have taken refuge.Let me not be put to shame ever.Deliver me by your righteousness.

15My timesOr "destiny" are in your hand.Deliver me from the hand of my enemiesand from those who pursue me.

16Shine your face upon your servant.Save me by your loyal love.

8Trickle, O heavens, from above,and let clouds trickle with righteousness;let the earth open so thatOr "and" salvation may be fruitful,and let it cause righteousness to sprout along with it.Or "together"I myself, Yahweh, have created it.

20Assemble and come;draw near together, survivors of the nations!They do not know, those who carry their wooden idolsLiterally "the wood of their idol"and pray to a god who cannot save.

21Declare and present your case,also let them consult together!Who made this knownLiterally "caused to hear this" from former times,Literally "before"declared it from of old?Literally "then"Was it not I, Yahweh?And there is no other god besides me,a righteous God besides me,and no savior besides me.

14Deliver me from the mud and do not let me sink.Let me be delivered from those who hate meand from the watery depths.

18Draw near to my soul; redeem it.Because of my enemies, ransom me.

32The afflicted will see and rejoice.O God seekers, let your heart revive,Or "live"

2to proclaimLiterally "call" the year of Yahweh’s favor,and our God’s day of vengeance,to comfort all those in mourning,

6ButOr "And" you shall be called the priests of Yahweh,you will be calledLiterally "it shall be said of you" servers of our God.You shall eat the wealth of the nations,and you shall boast in their riches.

10I will rejoice greatly in Yahweh;my being shall shout in exultation in my God.For he has clothed me with garments of salvation,he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,as a bridegroom adorns himself with a head wrap like a priest,and as a bride adorns herself with her jewelry.

5and they will sing of the ways of Yahweh,because Yahweh’s glory is great.

7Though I walk in the midst of trouble,you preserve me alive.You stretch out your hand against the anger of my enemies,and you save me with your right hand.

8Yahweh accomplishes things for my benefit.O Yahweh, your loyal love endures forever;do not abandon the works of your hands.

5You meet with the one who rejoices,one who does righteousness.In your ways they remember you.Look! You were angry and we sinned against them in ancient times and we were saved.

9You must not be exceedingly angry, Yahweh,and you must not remember iniquity forever!Look! Behold, now! We all are your people!

12Will you control yourself because of these, Yahweh?Will you be silent?And will you oppress us exceedingly?

1To you, O Yahweh, I call.O my rock, do not be deaf to me.Or else, if you are silent to me,then I will become like those descending to the pit.

7Yahweh is my strength and my shield.My heart trusts him and I am helped.So my heart rejoices,and with my song I will give thanks to him.

9Save your peopleand bless your heritage.Shepherd them also and carry them always.

1Ah! Those who go down to Egypt for help!They rely on horsesand trust in chariots because they are many,and in horsemen because they are very numerous,and they do not look to the holy one of Israel,and they do not consult Yahweh.

3And the Egyptians are human and not God,and their horses are flesh and not spirit.And Yahweh stretches out his hand,and the helper will stumble,and the one being helped will fall,and together all of them will come to an end.Or "perish"

5Like birds flying overhead, so Yahweh of hosts will protect Jerusalem;he will protect and deliver it;he will pass over and rescue it.

1The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."They are corrupt and they have done abominable iniquity.There is none who does good.

5There they are very fearfulLiterally "they feared a fear"where no fear had been,because God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you.You have put them to shame, because God has rejected them.

6Oh, that from ZionLiterally "Who will give that from Zion" would come salvation for Israel!When God returns the fortunesOr "captivity" of his people,let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.

3And what will you do at the day of punishment,and at calamity? It comes from afar!To whom will you flee for help,and where will you leave your wealth,

22For though your people Israel was like the sand of the sea,only a remnant of it will return.Annihilation is determined,overflowing with righteousness.

31Madmenah flees!The inhabitants of Gebim bring themselves into safety!

7Surely a man cannot redeem a brother.He cannot give to God his ransom

15Surely God will ransom my lifefrom the powerLiterally "hand" of Sheol,because he will receive me. Selah

18Though he congratulated his soul while he was living—and people will praise you when you do well for yourself—

16Wash! Make yourselves clean!Remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes!Cease to do evil!

17Learn to do good!Seek justice! Rescue the oppressed!Defend the orphan! Plead for the widow!

20But if you refuse and you rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword.For the mouth of Yahweh has spoken."

1O Yahweh, hear a just cause.Hear my cry; heed my prayerI make without deceitful lips.

8Keep me as the apple of your eye.Literally "the little man of the daughter of your eye"Hide me in the shadow of your wings

13Rise up, O Yahweh, confront him.Literally "his face"Make him bow down.Rescue with your sword my life from the wicked,

4Say to those who are hasty of heart,"Be strong; you must not fear!Look! your God will come with vengeance,with divine retribution.Literally "the retribution of gods"He is the one whoLiterally "he" will come and save you."

9No lion shall be there,and no ferocious wild beast shall go up it.It shall not be found there,butOr "and" the redeemed shall walk there.

10And the ransomed of Yahweh shall return,and they shall come to Zion with rejoicing.And everlasting joy shall be on their head;joy and gladness shall overtake them,and sorrow and sighing shall flee.

8In God we boast all the day,and we will give thanks to your name forever. Selah

23Wake up! Why do you sleep, O Lord?Awake! Do not reject forever.

26Rise up! Be a help for us,and redeem us for the sake of your loyal love.

1Awake! Awake; put on your strength, Zion!Put on the garments of your beauty, Jerusalem, holy city!Literally "city of the holiness"For the uncircumcised and the unclean shall not continue toLiterally "do again he shall" enter you any longer.

2Shake yourself free from the dust! Rise up; sit, Jerusalem!Free yourselves from the bonds of your neck, captive daughter of Zion!

11Depart, depart, go out from there! You must not touch any unclean thing.Go out from the midst of it, keep clean, you who carry the vessels of Yahweh.

1Sing toOr "sing concerning" Yahweh a new song, for he has done wonders.His right hand and his holy arm have secured his victory.

3He has remembered his loyal love and his faithfulnessto the house of Israel.All the ends of the earth have seenthe salvationOr "victory" of our God.

4Shout joyfully to Yahweh, all the earth.Be cheerfulOr "Burst forth" and sing for joy and sing praises.
