7 So Saul ordered his officials, "Find me someone who can call up spirits so I may go and seek counsel from those spirits."
His servants said, "There’s a witch at Endor."
15 Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by calling me up?"
"Because I’m in deep trouble," said Saul. "The Philistines are making war against me and God has deserted me—he doesn’t answer me any more, either by prophet or by dream. And so I’m calling on you to tell me what to do."
7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.
15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.28.15 by prophets: Heb. by the hand of prophets
7 Saul then said to his attendants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her."
"There is one in Endor," they said.
15 Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?"
"I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has departed from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do."
7 Then Saul said to his servants, [1 Chr. 10:13] "Seek out for me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her." And his servants said to him, "Behold, there is a medium at Josh. 17:11;Ps. 83:10En-dor."
15 Then Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" Saul answered, "I am in great distress, for the Philistines are warring against me, and ch. 16:14;18:12God has turned away from me and ver. 6answers me no more, either by prophets or by dreams. Therefore I have summoned you to tell me what I shall do."
7 Saul then said to his advisers, "Find a woman who is a medium, so I can go and ask her what to do."
His advisers replied, "There is a medium at Endor."
15 "Why have you disturbed me by calling me back?" Samuel asked Saul.
"Because I am in deep trouble," Saul replied. "The Philistines are at war with me, and God has left me and won’t reply by prophets or dreams. So I have called for you to tell me what to do."
7 Then Saul said to his servants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, Ex. 28:30; Num. 27:21; Deut. 33:8that I may go to her and inquire of her."
And his servants said to him, "In fact, thereis a woman who is a medium at En Dor."
15 Now Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you 1 Sam. 15:27; 2 Kin. 2:8, 13disturbed me by bringing me up?"
And Saul answered, "I am deeply distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and Is. 14:9God has departed from me and 1 Sam. 16:14; 18:12does not answer me anymore, neither by prophets nor by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may reveal to me what I should do."
7 Then Saul said to his servants, "Find for me a woman who is a medium, so that I may go to her and inquire of her." And his servants said to him, "Behold, there is a woman who is a medium at En-dor."
15 And Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" Saul replied, "I am very distressed, for the Philistines are waging war against me, and God has abandoned me and no longer answers me, either through prophets or in dreams; therefore I have called you, so that you may let me know what I should do."
7 Saul then said to his servants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, so I can go and consult her."
His servants replied, "There is a woman at En-dor 28:7 Jos 17:1; Ps 83:10 who is a medium." 28:7 Ac 16:16
15 "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up? " Samuel asked Saul.
"I’m in serious trouble," replied Saul. "The Philistines are fighting against me and God has turned away from me. 28:15 1Sm 16:13–14; 18:12 He doesn’t answer me anymore, 28:15 1Sm 28:6 either through the prophets or in dreams. So I’ve called on you to tell me what I should do."
7 And Saul said to his servants: Seek me a woman that hath a divining spirit, and I will go to her, and inquire by her. And his servants said to him: There is a woman that hath a divining spirit at Endor. 15 And Samuel said to Saul: Why hast thou disturbed my rest, that I should be brought up? And Saul said, I am in great distress: for the Philistines fight against me, and God is departed from me, and would not hear me, neither by the hand of prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest shew me what I shall do.
