14 "Indeed God speaks once,
Or twice, yet no one notices it.
15 "In a dream, a vision of the night,
When deep sleep falls on people,
While they slumber in their beds,
14 "Indeed God speaks once,
Or twice, yet no one notices it.
15 "In a dream, a vision of the night,
When deep sleep falls on people,
While they slumber in their beds,
14 For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
14 For God does speak—now one way, now another—
though no one perceives it.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night,
when deep sleep falls on people
as they slumber in their beds,
14 For God [ch. 40:5;Ps. 62:11] speaks in one way,
ver. 29and in two, though man [1 Sam. 3:4,6]does not perceive it.
15 In See Num. 12:6a dream, in ch. 4:13a vision of Ps. 17:3the night,
when ch. 4:13deep sleep falls on men,
while they slumber on their beds,
14 For God speaks again and again,
though people do not recognize it.
15 He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night,
when deep sleep falls on people
as they lie in their beds.
14 Job 33:29; 40:5; Ps. 62:11For God may speak in one way, or in another,
Yetman does not perceive it.
15 (Num. 12:6)In a dream, in a vision of the night,
When deep sleep falls upon men,
While slumbering on their beds,
14 For God speaks time and again,
but a person may not notice it.
15 In a dream, a vision 33:15 Jb 4:13; 7:14; 20:8 in the night,
when deep sleep comes over people 33:15 Gn 2:21; 15:12; Jb 4:13
as they slumber on their beds,
14 God speaketh once, and repeateth not the selfsame thing the second time. 15 By a dream in a vision by night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, and they are sleeping in their beds:
12-14 "But let me tell you, Job, you’re wrong, dead wrong!
God is far greater than any human.
So how dare you haul him into court,
and then complain that he won’t answer your charges?
God always answers, one way or another,
even when people don’t recognize his presence.
15-18 "In a dream, for instance, a vision at night,
when men and women are deep in sleep,
fast asleep in their beds—
God opens their ears
and impresses them with warnings
To turn them back from something bad they’re planning,
from some reckless choice,
And keep them from an early grave,
from the river of no return.
