1 Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not become discouraged, 7 now, will God not bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day 18:7 Or and night? He is also patient toward themand night, and will He delay long for them?8 I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find 18:8 Lit the faithfaith on the earth?"
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
1 And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought ch. 21:36;Rom. 12:12;Eph. 6:18;Col. 4:2;1 Thess. 5:17;[ch. 11:5-9] always to pray and not 2 Cor. 4:1,16;2 Thess. 3:13(Gk.)lose heart. 7 And Rev. 6:10;[Isa. 63:4] will not God give justice to Rom. 8:33;Col. 3:12;Titus 1:1;See Mark 13:20his elect, Ps. 88:1who cry to him day and night? James 5:7(Gk.)2 Pet. 3:9Will he delay long over them?8 I tell you, he will give justice to them Heb. 10:37speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, ch. 17:26-30;[Matt. 24:12]will he find faith on earth?"
1 One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.
7 Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?8 I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man18:8 "Son of Man" is a title Jesus used for himself.returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?"
1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men Luke 11:5–10; Rom. 12:12; (Eph. 6:18); Col. 4:2; 1 Thess. 5:17always ought to pray and not lose heart,
7 And Rev. 6:10shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?8 I tell you Heb. 10:37; (2 Pet. 3:8, 9)that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"
1 Now he told them a parable on the need for them to pray 18:1 Lk 11:5–13; 21:36; 1Th 5:17 always and not give up. 18:1 2Co 4:1
7 Will not God grant justice 18:7 Is 63:4; Rv 6:10to his elect 18:7 Mt 24:22; Rm 8:33; 2Tm 2:10; Ti 1:1who cry out to him day and night? 18:7 Ps 88:1Will he delay 18:7 2Pt 3:9helping them? 18:7 Or Will he put up with them?8 I tell you that he will swiftly grant them justice. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, 18:8 Dn 7:13; Lk 9:26; 12:40will he find faith on earth? "
1 And he spoke also a parable to them, that we ought always to pray, and not to faint, 7 And will not God revenge his elect who cry to him day and night: and will he have patience in their regard? 8 I say to you, that he will quickly revenge them. But yet the Son of man, when he cometh, shall he find, think you, faith on earth?
1-3 Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit. He said, "There was once a judge in some city who never gave God a thought and cared nothing for people. A widow in that city kept after him: ‘My rights are being violated. Protect me!’
6-8 Then the Master said, "Do you hear what that judge, corrupt as he is, is saying? So what makes you think God won’t step in and work justice for his chosen people, who continue to cry out for help? Won’t he stick up for them? I assure you, he will. He will not drag his feet. But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on the earth when he returns?"
