1. KJV King James Version

21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.*3.21 recall…: Heb. make to return to my heart

22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

2. NIV New International Version

   and therefore I have hope:

22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,

   great is your faithfulness.

   24 I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion;

therefore I will wait for him."

26 it is good to wait quietly

for the salvation of the Lord.

8. MSG The Message

19-21 I’ll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness,

the taste of ashes, the poison I’ve swallowed.

I remember it all—oh, how well I remember—

the feeling of hitting the bottom.

But there’s one other thing I remember,

and remembering, I keep a grip on hope:

22-24 God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out,

his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.

   They’re created new every morning.

   How great your faithfulness!

I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over).

   He’s all I’ve got left.

25-27 God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits,

to the woman who diligently seeks.

It’s a good thing to quietly hope,

quietly hope for help from God.

   It’s a good thing when you’re young

to stick it out through the hard times.
