10 I also 13:10 Or knewdiscovered that the portions of the Levites had not been given to them, so the Levites and the singers who performed the service had 13:10 Lit fledgone away, each to his own field. 11 So I 13:11 Or contended withreprimanded the officials and said, "Why has the house of God been neglected?" Then I gathered them together and stationed them at their posts. 12 All Judah then brought the tithe of the grain, wine, and oil into the storehouses.
10 And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field. 11 Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.13.11 place: Heb. standing 12 Then brought all Judah the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries.13.12 treasuries: or, storehouses
10 I also learned that the portions assigned to the Levites had not been given to them, and that all the Levites and musicians responsible for the service had gone back to their own fields. 11 So I rebuked the officials and asked them, "Why is the house of God neglected?" Then I called them together and stationed them at their posts.
12 All Judah brought the tithes of grain, new wine and olive oil into the storerooms.
10 I also found out that 2 Chr. 31:4;[Mal. 3:8] the portions of the Levites had not been given to them, so that the Levites and the singers, who did the work, had fled each ch. 12:28,29to his field. 11 ver. 17, 25So I confronted the officials and said, [ch. 10:39]"Why is the house of God forsaken?" And I gathered them together and set them in their stations. 12 Then all Judah brought [ch. 10:38,39;12:44]the tithe of the grain, wine, and oil into the storehouses.
10 I also discovered that the Levites had not been given their prescribed portions of food, so they and the singers who were to conduct the worship services had all returned to work their fields. 11 I immediately confronted the leaders and demanded, "Why has the Temple of God been neglected?" Then I called all the Levites back again and restored them to their proper duties. 12 And once more all the people of Judah began bringing their tithes of grain, new wine, and olive oil to the Temple storerooms.
10 I also realized that the portions for the Levites had Neh. 10:37; Mal. 3:8not been given them; for each of the Levites and the singers who did the work had gone back to Num. 35:2his field. 11 So Neh. 13:17, 25I contended with the rulers, and said, Neh. 10:39"Why is the house of God forsaken?" And I gathered them together and set them in their place. 12 Neh. 10:38; 12:44Then all Judah brought the tithe of the grain and the new wine and the oil to the storehouse.
10 I also found out that because the portions for the Levites had not been given, 13:10 Dt 12:19; Neh 12:44,47 each of the Levites and the singers performing the service had gone back to his own field. 13:10 2Ch 29:511 Therefore, I rebuked the officials, asking, "Why has the house of God been neglected? " 13:11 Neh 10:37–39; Mal 3:10 I gathered the Levites and singers together and stationed them at their posts. 13:11 Neh 12:44–4512 Then all Judah brought a tenth of the grain, new wine, and fresh oil into the storehouses. 13:12 Neh 10:37–38
10 And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: and that the Levites, and the singing men, and they that ministered were fled away every man to his own country: 11 And I pleaded the matter against the magistrates, and said: Why have we forsaken the house of God? And I gathered them together, and I made them to stand in their places. 12 And all Juda brought the tithe of the corn, and the wine, and the oil into the storehouses.
10-13 And then I learned that the Levites hadn’t been given their regular food allotments. So the Levites and singers who led the services of worship had all left and gone back to their farms. I called the officials on the carpet, "Why has The Temple of God been abandoned?" I got everyone back again and put them back on their jobs so that all Judah was again bringing in the tithe of grain, wine, and oil to the storerooms. I put Shelemiah the priest, Zadok the scribe, and a Levite named Pedaiah in charge of the storerooms. I made Hanan son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah, their right-hand man. These men had a reputation for honesty and hard work. They were responsible for distributing the rations to their brothers.
