16 On that day it will be said to Jerusalem:
"Do not be afraid, Zion;
Do not let your hands fall limp.
17 "The Lord your God is in your midst,

16 On that day
they will say to Jerusalem,
"Do not fear, Zion;
do not let your hands hang limp.
17 The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing."

"Fear not, O Zion;
[Isa. 35:3;Heb. 12:12]let not your hands grow weak.
17 [See ver. 15above] The Lord your God is in your midst,
[Isa. 63:1] a mighty one who will save;
Isa. 62:5;Jer. 32:41he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.
16 On that day the announcement to Jerusalem will be,
"Cheer up, Zion! Don’t be afraid!
17 For the Lord your God is living among you.
He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.

He will rejoice over you with joyful songs."
16 In that day Is. 35:3, 4it shall be said to Jerusalem:
"Do not fear;

The Mighty One, will save;

"Don’t be afraid.
Dear Zion,
don’t despair.
Your God is present among you,
a strong Warrior there to save you.
Happy to have you back, he’ll calm you with his love
and delight you with his songs.
