Of David. A psalm.

1 The Lord says to my lord:*110:1 Or Lord

"Sit at my right hand

until I make your enemies

a footstool for your feet."

2 The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying,

"Rule in the midst of your enemies!"

3 Your troops will be willing

on your day of battle.

Arrayed in holy splendor,

your young men will come to you

like dew from the morning’s womb.*110:3 The meaning of the Hebrew for this sentence is uncertain.

4 The Lord has sworn

and will not change his mind:

"You are a priest forever,

in the order of Melchizedek."

5 The Lord is at your right hand*110:5 Or My lord is at your right hand, Lord;

he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.

6 He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead

and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.

7 He will drink from a brook along the way,*110:7 The meaning of the Hebrew for this clause is uncertain.

and so he will lift his head high.

Salmo de Davi

1 Disse o Senhor ao meu Senhor:

Assenta-te

à minha mão direita,

até que ponha os teus inimigos

por escabelo dos teus pés.

2 O Senhor enviará

o cetro da tua fortaleza desde Sião,

dizendo:

Domina no meio dos teus inimigos.

3 O teu povo

será mui voluntário

no dia do teu poder;

nos ornamentos de santidade,

desde a madre da alva,

tu tens

o orvalho da tua mocidade.

4 Jurou o Senhor,

e não se arrependerá:

tu és um sacerdote eterno,

segundo

a ordem de Melquisedeque.

5 O Senhor,

à tua direita, ferirá os reis

no dia da sua ira.

6 Julgará entre os gentios;

tudo encherá de corpos mortos;

ferirá os cabeças de muitos países.

7 Beberá do ribeiro no caminho,

por isso exaltará a cabeça.
