1 Clap your hands, all you nations;

shout to God with cries of joy.

2 For the Lord Most High is awesome,

the great King over all the earth.

3 He subdued nations under us,

peoples under our feet.

4 He chose our inheritance for us,

the pride of Jacob, whom he loved.*47:4 The Hebrew has Selah (a word of uncertain meaning) here.

5 God has ascended amid shouts of joy,

the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises;

sing praises to our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth;

sing to him a psalm of praise.

8 God reigns over the nations;

God is seated on his holy throne.

9 The nobles of the nations assemble

as the people of the God of Abraham,

for the kings*47:9 Or shields of the earth belong to God;

he is greatly exalted.

1 Batei palmas, todos os povos;

aclamai a Deus

com voz de triunfo.

2 Porque o Senhor Altíssimo é tremendo,

e Rei grande

sobre toda a terra.

3 Ele nos subjugará os povos

e as nações debaixo

dos nossos pés.

4 Escolherá para nós a nossa herança,

a glória de Jacó,

a quem amou.

5 Deus subiu com júbilo,

o Senhor subiu ao som de trombeta.

6 Cantai louvores a Deus, cantai louvores;

ao nosso Rei,

cantai louvores.

7 Pois Deus é o Rei de toda a terra,

cantai louvores

com inteligência.

8 Deus reina sobre os gentios;

Deus se assenta

sobre o trono da sua santidade.

9 Os príncipes do povo se ajuntam, o povo do Deus de Abraão;

porque os escudos

da terra

são de Deus.
