Psalms 146

1 Praise the Lord.*146:1 Hebrew Hallelu Yah; also in verse 10

Praise the Lord, my soul.

2 I will praise the Lord all my life;

I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

3 Do not put your trust in princes,

in human beings, who cannot save.

4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;

on that very day their plans come to nothing.

5 Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,

whose hope is in the Lord their God.

6 He is the Maker of heaven and earth,

the sea, and everything in them—

he remains faithful forever.

7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed

and gives food to the hungry.

The Lord sets prisoners free,

8 the Lord gives sight to the blind,

the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,

the Lord loves the righteous.

9 The Lord watches over the foreigner

and sustains the fatherless and the widow,

but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

10 The Lord reigns forever,

your God, O Zion, for all generations.

Praise the Lord.

1 Aleluia!

Louve, ó minha alma, ao Senhor.

2 Louvarei ao Senhor por toda a minha vida;

cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto eu viver.

3 Não confiem em príncipes,

em meros mortais, incapazes de salvar.

4 Quando o espírito deles se vai, eles retornam à terra;

naquele mesmo dia desaparecem os seus planos.

5 Bem-aventurado aquele cujo auxílio é o Deus de Jacó,

cuja esperança está no Senhor, o seu Deus,

6 que fez os céus e a terra,

o mar e tudo o que neles há,

e que mantém a sua fidelidade para sempre!

7 Ele defende a causa dos oprimidos

e dá alimento aos famintos.

O Senhor liberta os presos,

8 o Senhor dá vista aos cegos,

o Senhor levanta os abatidos,

o Senhor ama os justos.

9 O Senhor protege o estrangeiro

e sustém o órfão e a viúva,

mas frustra o caminho dos ímpios.

10 O Senhor reina para sempre!

O teu Deus, ó Sião, reina de geração a geração.
