8"Open up, O heavens,and pour out your righteousness.Let the earth open wideso salvation and righteousness can sprout up together.I, the Lord, created them.
17But the Lord will save the people of Israelwith eternal salvation.Throughout everlasting ages,they will never again be humiliated and disgraced.
22Let all the world look to me for salvation!For I am God; there is no other.
16Powerful kings and mighty nationswill satisfy your every need,as though you were a childnursing at the breast of a queen.You will know at last that I, the Lord,am your Savior and your Redeemer,the Mighty One of Israel.60:16 Hebrew of Jacob. See note on 14:1.
18Violence will disappear from your land;the desolation and destruction of war will end.Salvation will surround you like city walls,and praise will be on the lips of all who enter there.
20Your sun will never set;your moon will not go down.For the Lord will be your everlasting light.Your days of mourning will come to an end.
11This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
12The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living.
14Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.
3All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.
6Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer.
10And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.
13O Lord, the hope of Israel,all who turn away from you will be disgraced.They will be buried in the dust of the earth,for they have abandoned the Lord, the fountain of living water.
14O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed;if you save me, I will be truly saved.My praises are for you alone!
17Lord, don’t terrorize me!You alone are my hope in the day of disaster.
3Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people.
21and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.
23Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others,1:22-23a Some manuscripts have only two categories of people: (1) those whose faith is wavering and therefore need to be snatched from the flames of judgment, and (2) those who need to be shown mercy. but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.1:23b Greek with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.
25All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.

27The eternal God is your refuge,and his everlasting arms are under you.He drives out the enemy before you;he cries out, ‘Destroy them!’
29How blessed you are, O Israel!Who else is like you, a people saved by the Lord?He is your protecting shieldand your triumphant sword!Your enemies will cringe before you,and you will stomp on their backs!"
2For God says,"At just the right time, I heard you.On the day of salvation, I helped you."6:2 Isa 49:8 (Greek version).Indeed, the "right time" is now. Today is the day of salvation.
4In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind.
7We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense.
6I sank down to the very roots of the mountains.I was imprisoned in the earth,whose gates lock shut forever.But you, O Lord my God,snatched me from the jaws of death!
7As my life was slipping away,I remembered the Lord.And my earnest prayer went out to youin your holy Temple.
9But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise,and I will fulfill all my vows.For my salvation comes from the Lord alone."
20When he got there, he called out in anguish, "Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?"
23The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted in his God.
27He rescues and saves his people;he performs miraculous signs and wondersin the heavens and on earth.He has rescued Danielfrom the power of the lions."
18The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
24But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles,1:24 Greek and Greeks. Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
30God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.
14sent messengers to bring Jeremiah out of the prison. They put him under the care of Gedaliah son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan, who took him back to his home. So Jeremiah stayed in Judah among his own people.
17but I will rescue you from those you fear so much.
18Because you trusted me, I will give you your life as a reward. I will rescue you and keep you safe. I, the Lord, have spoken!’"
10but I would not listen to him. Instead, I made Balaam bless you, and so I rescued you from Balak.
17For the Lord our God is the one who rescued us and our ancestors from slavery in the land of Egypt. He performed mighty miracles before our very eyes. As we traveled through the wilderness among our enemies, he preserved us.
18It was the Lord who drove out the Amorites and the other nations living here in the land. So we, too, will serve the Lord, for he alone is our God."
