26Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man’s house where her lord was, till it was light.

10But he said unto her: 'Thou speakest as one of the impious women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?' For all this did not Job sin with his lips.

11Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place, Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to bemoan him and to comfort him.

28(19-29) For all my father’s house were deserving of death at the hand of my lord the king; yet didst thou set thy servant among them that did eat at thine own table. What right therefore have I yet? or why should I cry any more unto the king?'

35(19-36) I am this day fourscore years old; can I discern between good and bad? can thy servant taste what I eat or what I drink? can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? wherefore then should thy servant be yet a burden unto my lord the king?

37(19-38) Let thy servant, I pray thee, turn back, that I may die in mine own city, by the grave of my father and my mother. But behold thy servant Chimham; let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem good unto thee.'

5My favour is near, My salvation is gone forth, and Mine arms shall judge the peoples; the isles shall wait for Me, and on Mine arm shall they trust.

9Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Art thou not it that hewed Rahab in pieces, that pierced the dragon?

13And hast forgotten the LORD thy Maker, that stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and fearest continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, as he maketh ready to destroy? And where is the fury of the oppressor?

1A Song of Ascents. Happy is every one that feareth the LORD, that walketh in His ways.

3Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine, in the innermost parts of thy house; thy children like olive plants, round about thy table.

6And see thy children’s children. Peace be upon Israel!

11Because ye are glad, because ye rejoice, O ye that plunder My heritage, because ye gambol as a heifer at grass, and neigh as strong horses;

23How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! How is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!

30How much more, if haply the people had eaten freely to-day of the spoil of their enemies which they found? had there not been then a much greater slaughter among the Philistines?'

19And he said: 'Therefore hear thou the word of the LORD. I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right hand and on his left.

22And the LORD said unto him: Wherewith? And he said: I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And He said: Thou shalt entice him, and shalt prevail also; go forth, and do so.

2Shall he that reproveth contend with the Almighty? He that argueth with God, let him answer it.

4Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer Thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth.

9Or hast thou an arm like God? And canst thou thunder with a voice like Him?

9It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.

23This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

25We beseech Thee, O LORD, save now! We beseech Thee, O LORD, make us now to prosper!

4Hark, a tumult in the mountains, like as of a great people! Hark, the uproar of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together! The LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.

12I will make man more rare than fine gold, even man than the pure gold of Ophir.

5(40-29) Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? Or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?

6(40-30) Will the bands of fishermen make a banquet of him? Will they part him among the merchants?

14(41-6) Who can open the doors of his face? Round about his teeth is terror.

6And in this mountain will the LORD of hosts make unto all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

5(81-6) He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, when He went forth against the land of Egypt. The speech of one that I knew not did I hear:

7(81-8) Thou didst call in trouble, and I rescued thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah

10(81-11) I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt; open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

12When they were but a few men in number. Yea, very few, and sojourners in it,

18His feet they hurt with fetters, his person was laid in iron;

45That they might keep His statutes, and observe His laws. Hallelujah.

8Consider, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye understand?

9He that planted the ear, shall He not hear? He that formed the eye, shall He not see?

16Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

1Hallelujah. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and His praise in the assembly of the saints.

9To execute upon them the judgment written; He is the glory of all His saints. Hallelujah.

13For Thou hast made my reins; Thou hast knit me together in my mother’s womb.

17How weighty also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!

19If Thou but wouldest slay the wicked, O God — depart from me therefore, ye men of blood;

1Hallelujah. Happy is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in His commandments.

4Unto the upright He shineth as a light in the darkness, gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

10(38-11) My heart fluttereth, my strength faileth me; as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
