Lucas 1

67 Zacharias, his father, was filled with the Holy Spirit and said prophetically:68 "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel! For he has looked upon his people, and made deliverance for them.69 He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of David his servant,70 As he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets of old,71 Salvation from our enemies and from the hands of all those that hate us,72 Dealing kindly with our forefathers, mindful of his holy covenant,73 The oath which he swore to Abraham our father,74 To grant that we, saved from the hands of our enemies, may serve him Without fear75 in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.76 And you, child, will be called a prophet of the Most High. You will go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways,77 To give the knowledge of salvation to his people by the forgiveness of their sins,78 Through the tender compassion of our God, With which the sunrise from on high will shine upon us;79 To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the path of peace."
