28 Då hov Nebukadnessar upp sin röst och sade: »Lovad vare Sadraks, Mesaks och Abed-Negos Gud, som sände sin ängel och räddade sina tjänare, vilka så förtröstade på honom, att de överträdde konungens befallning och vågade sina liv för att icke nödgas dyrka eller tillbedja någon annan gud än sin egen Gud!

29 Och härmed giver jag nu befallning att vilken som helst av alla folk och stammar och tungomål, som säger något otillbörligt om Sadraks, Mesaks och Abed-Negos Gud, han skall huggas i stycken, och hans hus skall göras till en plats för orenlighet; ty ingen gud finnes, som så kan hjälpa som denne.

28 Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants who trusted in him, and who changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God!

29 Therefore I make a decree, that in every people, nation, and language, he who shall speak anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and his house shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that is able to deliver after this sort.
