17 Men nu sade jag till dem: »I sen själva i vilken nöd vi äro, huru Jerusalem ligger öde, och huru dess portar äro uppbrända i eld. Välan då, låt oss bygga upp Jerusalems mur, för att vi icke längre må vara till smälek.»

18 Och jag omtalade för dem huru min Guds hand hade varit mig nådig, så ock vad konungen hade lovat mig. Då sade de: »Vi vilja stå upp och bygga.» Och de togo mod till sig för det goda verket.

17 Then I said to them, "You see the bad situation that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come, let’s build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we won’t be disgraced." 18 I told them about the hand of my God which was good on me, and also about the king’s words that he had spoken to me.

They said, "Let’s rise up and build." So they strengthened their hands for the good work.
