16 David agreed. So Jonathan made a solemn agreement with David. And he said, "I hope/desire that Yahweh will get rid of all your enemies." 17 And Jonathan requested David to repeat his solemn promise to be his close friend, because Jonathan loved David as much as he loved himself.
