41 Just then a man named Jairus, who was one of the leaders ◄of the synagogue/of the Jewish meeting place► there, came near and prostrated himself at Jesus’ feet. He pleaded with Jesus, "Please come to my house and heal my daughter, 42 my only daughter, who is about twelve years old, because she is dying!"
As Jesus went with him, many people crowded close to Jesus.
